Best Scents for Your Kitchen

Modern kitchen with food and cookware

The kitchen is the room of the house always filled with a variety of smells, some that you may not be wanting to smell for days. Here are some tips on how you can avoid that problem:

Do’s and Don’ts

At the end of the day, the scent you use in your home and kitchen is going to come down to personal preference. Most people likely won’t burn a candle of a scent they don’t enjoy even if it is a recommended scent. The key is to stay on track with complimenting scents for different areas of your house but with the scents that you still enjoy. If you fill a room with the scent of a candle you don’t enjoy, it is going to make that area a less enjoyable space for you.

Don’ts- Even though the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the kitchen is food. A candle with a food scent, however, is not the best option to burn in your kitchen. Even if the scents are of yummy desserts, like cookies, it likely won’t mingle well with other food smells in the room.

Do’s- Rather than burning food scents try and aim for fresh and clean smells. They will make the kitchen smell clean and help eliminate odors from the foods that may have been cooked earlier that day and are still lingering.

Recommended Scents

Clothes Line - The smells of cotton and linen mixed with fresh outdoor air for a clean, refreshing scent. This candle will bring a clean and airy scent to your kitchen to help air out old food smells and can take away any possible stuffiness in the room.

Gardenia - A beautiful floral scent. The aroma of this tropical flower has notes of fresh green leaves and soft musk. Floral scents are also a way to fill your kitchen with a natural scent to freshen it up.

Lemon - Although you wouldn’t typically burn food scents in the kitchen, citrus can be an exception. Citrus scents bring a fresh smell to the space which can help mask the food odor. It can help the room to smell cleaner and become more welcoming.
